Risk assessment completes the picture. The BIA indicates what happens if an activity is interrupted; the risk analysis helps us understand threats, vulnerabilities, and preventive measures. Keeping these two exercises separate allows us to develop more coherent strategies and prevents the continuity plan from becoming nothing more than a generic list of emergencies. <\/p>\n

After defining priorities and objectives, the course addresses the identification of strategies. These may include alternative sites, distributed production capacity, remote work, alternative suppliers, critical inventory, temporary manual procedures, technological redundancy, and mutual support agreements.
